You want to be careful if there's an offer on the Argos web-site that seems too good to be true. In my experience, the maximum discount they offer on large sets is about 40% (which is obviously still very good). Even then you have to be very quick to still get anything, but I don't think 50% off offers on LEGO are likely to be real.

Argos are too big a company to put up non-existent offers. They will get found out pretty quickly.

Yes, you would think so. However, it is quite often the case that there are items listed as available which then turn out not to be available either for home delivery or pick-up in a shop. Cock-up or conspiracy? You decide. :)
