I have a couple of Gorilla cages I want to mount on my carbon forks to carry a sleep mat and cooking kit (so nothing heavy).
I don’t have the mounting clips so would a piece of old inner tube between the cage and the fork and a good wrap with electrical tape hold it sufficiently for a few days on road?
these are good. I like their cages too. not that cheap I'm afraid. https://www.cyclemiles.co.uk/shop/brompton-gifts/gorilla-clip-for-gorilla-cage-and-monkii-system/#.XO-WgzbYqto
I was recently gifted a pair of gorilla cages for my birthday so I bought the clips and bags to match. Only just fitted but seem well made and the quick release system is handy.
I had to mount them angled a bit towards the front due to the shape of the forks but they seem to sit fine. I'll report back if I have any problems after a loaded up trial.
