  • Does anyone have any great ideas for protein while camping/backpacking?

    • beans, legumes are not ideal as they either contain too much water/come in tins (-> too heavy to carry), need cooking/soaking for hours (not really practical), or need a dehydrator (I don't have one)
    • fake meat products, tofu, etc. needs refrigerating
    • nuts are fine but you need to eat quite a lot of them and they restrict your "cooking" somewhat
    • grainy things like cous cous are great but the protein content is quite low
  • green lentils cooks pretty quick, that and rice is a complete protein.
    Tofu products last for days out of a fridge in my experience.
    quinoa is spendy but a good choice for protein
