  • First pizzas of the season on Friday. After a couple gentle warming fires during the day, first up was a couple loaves of spelt sourdough

I managed to get the first pizza out before sunset.

Then the beers kicked in and I started putting my new phone into the 400 degree oven. Stoopid.

Then I tried a roasted pineapple for the first time, and glad I did too. It was absolutely banging with some coconut cream whipped up with sugar. Recipe from this useful tome)

Then, also from the aforementioned book, a super simple chicken biriani in the residual heat from the pizzas and pineapple. Didn't buy enough chicken though...

I'll definitely be repeating that. Outrageously simple and very tasty. The perfect flavour/effort ratio after making pizzas for a couple hours. It's worth saying that we didn't eat that on Friday, it was reheated on Saturday evening.

After the biriani I tried to repeat the boozy overnight porridge I made a couple weeks ago but forgot to cover it with paper and it dried out too early and burnt. 4 decent dishes out of 5 isn't a bad return from £6 of wood though.
