I went through this yesterday. Seems like WazzapMigrator does work, but I wasn't comfortable with the possibility of an unknown company getting access to all your chats and media. Maybe overly paranoid but heyho.
In the end I just exported the chats I cared about to Google Drive as zip files (can be done in Whatsapp) so I can theoretically still access them (as a text log and individual images) if I ever need to.
