I used WazzapMigrator that @NurseHolliday mentioned when I went from iPhone to Galaxy.
Worked pretty much fine and was easy enough.If you go back from Android to iPhone though you're stuffed, as I found out.
There's no migration path back.Why WA/Facebook haven't just made it work is beyond me.

okay thanks mate. I'll give it a go this evening. Talk about a pain in the ass. Why on earth did apple remove the ability to back up to google docs?
When I logged in on my new phone for the first time it restored some random point - as in the middle of last year. I guess that was the last time it had backed up from google?
