Happy new year all. I thought I'd start the year with sharing a plan for what I need to do in 2019. Mostly for myself I guess...
I got some loose ends I need to tie up.
1. SSCX -> Disc Do It All Gravelleur Rando
Instead of machining my own dropouts I have to go with these Surly dropouts. They are fucking great so it isn't really a problem.
So I will be swapping out these and glueing on a slotted disc tabs.
Before the break I drilled holes in the frame for bottle cage bosses.
Only thing left to do is to figure out dynamo wiring and gear cable routing. I think I will run them all along the down tube as the brake cable will have to be run that way. The dynamo wire for the rear light can run next to the brake cable so it doesn't need to be run internally. And I think I will use barrel adjusters like this for the gear cables:
I want to keep the wishbone free as it looks super sweet without cables and if I am ever to race cross again on this bike I will probably do so SS and can just get rid of cables and adjusters.
Plan is to paint the frame in RAL 7048 and keep forks black. Headset will probably be a green CK and I am thinking about getting a green Edelux light to match it.
I have been able to remove ugly orange Viner logos and keep sparkle paintjob underneath so the plan is to clear coat the forks later this month.
