• It’s that or a desperate fight to stop parliament recalling A50 in the last weeks of March as companies flee the UK.

  • But is it really? The ERG have just failed to unseat her. Yes, the parliamentary party is unhappy, as seen by the many votes against her, but will that outweigh their interest to stay in power? Does she really think/would she be able to persuade them that they could win an early general election? She only does votes she'll win, obviously. Would the recent polling encourage her to give Labour the opportunity to put forward a fine-tuned manifesto? I don't think so. I think she wants to use the advantage that she currently has something on the table and Labour doesn't.

A vote of no confidence? Would the DUP really vote alongside Labour if it came to it? I don't think so.

Right now, I still think her 'deal' will go through. Narrowly, perhaps as narrowly as possible, but I think it will. I hope I'm wrong.

  • Right now, I still think her 'deal' will go through.

I don't. I can't see how the numbers could work out in her favour. The DUP will never, ever vote for it - it's an existential issue for them. The majority of the ERG would rather barbeque their first-born than vote for it. I think we can safely assume that the SNP aren't going to vote for it. That means that you'd have to have a whole raft of Labour MPs voting in favour, something which seems incredibly unlikely as their main aim is to get the Tories out of power, and giving them that 'victory' is not going to achieve that.

Basically, I just can't see where May can get the votes from. And as the referendum showed, it's much easier to say 'No' to something than to vote positively for something.
