Are Enduro as good though? I thought SKF were top notch? I don't actually remember if there was an option back when I bought mine but perhaps I was only searching for SKF?

Yes, for these purposes. I'd generally divide bearing manufacturers into two groups, ones you've heard of and ones you haven't. The former (SKF, FAG, NSK, Enduro, EZO, Timken etc.) are the ones you want, manufacturers you haven't heard of are to be avoided, not because they are necessarily worse, but because the small price difference makes it not worth taking a punt.

They were expensive. In a rare example of negative hipster tax, the Enduro ones are quite a bit cheaper
