You sound like you have good intentions so I’ll drop it.
Anyway everyone, go to Africa if you want it’s cool. Yes, you could get hurt, but you can also get shot in a country bar in Cali, hit by a left turning truck on the Strand or bitten by a venomous chongololo in Australia. Just take care wherever you are and leave your white saviour homogeneous Africa shit at home (don’t take selfies with kids, it’s creepy, you wouldn’t do it in Brockwell Park).

Sub-Saharan Africa
So this was a long day in the saddle and I had the time to think about all this shit storm that just happened. So I did some reading and I found out that “Black Africa” is a colonial term that indeed bares negative connotation. I want to make this clear: this was not my intention and I apologize to everyone who felt insulted by me using it. As dicki has pointed out, I’m not a native speaker and I realize that. Where I’m from this term doesn’t bear such meaning. Also I remembered that the black ring in the symbol of Olympic Games represents Africa.
I was fascinated by Africa when I was a teenager and I’m sure I’m going to visit it again.
