  • First of all, to everyone referring to the term Black Africa - it’s part of the continent inhibited by the black race of Homo Sapiens, where black Africans were living for millennia before white people arrive.

Black in reference to Africa is a 100% positive term to me.

All of this really tells more about you than me.

  • Sub-Saharan Africa

So this was a long day in the saddle and I had the time to think about all this shit storm that just happened. So I did some reading and I found out that “Black Africa” is a colonial term that indeed bares negative connotation. I want to make this clear: this was not my intention and I apologize to everyone who felt insulted by me using it. As dicki has pointed out, I’m not a native speaker and I realize that. Where I’m from this term doesn’t bear such meaning. Also I remembered that the black ring in the symbol of Olympic Games represents Africa.

I was fascinated by Africa when I was a teenager and I’m sure I’m going to visit it again.
