Patronising and slightly post colonial attitudes about how it's bad to be a rich white person and therefore the OP should feel bad about going and visiting all the Africans with their assumed poverty and primitive dirt roads are a load of bollocks.
Go, cycle! Looks like an awesome trip, you will meet loads of amazing people, see amazing places and have a great time. Oh and you can spread the word further about how the great white man is going to save 'Africa' despite the terrible risks and bring them all out of 'poverty' eventually
