For sale, Roberts Transcontinental touring bike. 58cm centre to top seattube, 57cm centre to centre top tube. The frame is made out of a Columbus Nivacrom and Reynolds mix, and is fitted with all braze ons for front and wheel racks, 3 bottle cages, mudguards, dynamo on forks, pump on seat stays etc. I believe the rear spacing is 130mm.
Spec consists of Shimano Deore xt v brakes, Deore Lx rear mech and Shimano 105 downtube shifters. Crankset is a Alvio triple. Front wheel is a Rigida Sputnik on Deore xt hub, and the rear a Rigida on Miche hub, running a 7 speed 11 to 34 cassette. Front tyre is a Continental touring which will need replacing soon, and rear a recent Marathon tyre. Stem and bars are 3ttt status. Includes Sks mudguards and Shimano spd pedals, and Campagnolo seat bolt.
The bike is in good overall condition, with just some paint chips appropriate for the age of the bike, which i believe is 2003. The front rim is showing some wear, otherwise everything looks in good condition. A excellent riding touring bike, however my sentimental attached to my older Claud butler and lack of space forces sale.
