I think the comment is more to do with the idea of ranking Rolex models into categories like entry range. Most Rolex are in a roughly similar price range with artificial marketing subdivisions. Really what are the differences between an OP and Explorer 1 or milgauss... or probably even no-date sub?
All are expensive compared to say a Steinhart or a Tissot - so labeling a $6k watch as entry range is silly.
Obvs when you cross reference prices to the no complication big 3, etc. £6k makes them look cheap. For eg how much is the cheapest time only PP?

One thing I don't hear often is cheap as chips when people talk about Rolex.
