Right, I'm gonna upgrade a desktop for the first time. So I need a decent graphics card around £200, I haven't got a clue what all these numbers mean
As far as Nvidia is concerned, £200 puts you in a hole between the 1050ti and 1060. I have no idea on the AMD equivalents.
Either should do 1080p @60fps in most games but the latter would allow more bells and whistles.
What's your current GPU, CPU and PSU?
You can pick RX 580's up for around that when on offer and they outperform 1060's.

Sounds like the 4GB model would do you even, although I hear there is a refresh this month so that will effect prices in your favour.
