FWIW my partner cut and used a manga pen nib into an empty nib holder.
Art nibs tend to be more flexible than writing nibs, but having to dip a nib means it is not very portable (hi, ink pot).
It worked for a while but then corroded. So if you want to do that sort of experiment ensure you use a nib that doesn't corrode.
