I thought there'd be examples like this. I suppose what a botched 'restoration' is is the attempt to make something (look) new again, but in a way that isn't a proper restoration.
I'm not sure the rattlecanning of Max' Cannondale was that; it was just an attempt to make it look different, when the bike didn't even look old yet.

I tend to find botched restorations quite funny when they appear in the news occasionally.

Is there a bike equivalent when people try to 'restore' old bikes and get it horribly wrong? It might not be the most pleasant thread as a result, but I'm curious.
I think there'll also be the occasional building, as dreadful things happen there, too. :)
