Thinking about removing the shifter paddle from the left shifter as I'll be running a 1x10 drivetrain. Any downsides?

Not in my experience! Very easy. I'm going to try and rebuild mine as I want the shifter back again, might give that a go tonight. If it's as easy to rebuild then there's no downside.

Good to know. Looking forward to hear how it went with the rebuild (will gut the shifter whether it’s easy or not tho’, don’t think I’ll run 2x in any foreseeable future).
