I think it’s a bit of a dick move to blame a rider for making a mistake. I think it was mentioned in the cycling podcast that after 200km and hard racing a lot of mistakes happen. 1 in 100 lead to an accident.
Ben King averaged 70th to DNF in every one day race he has ridden and shit the bed when he found himself in the selection. There is a duty of care.
