Could also be the dry conditions. Does Swinley have loose dust or sand on the trails?

Somewhat belatedly, but you can kinda make out the surface on the pic of Indra. 90% of the trails seem to be stony paths. No grip there

This is true, my tyres squeaked over certain sections. I don’t recall those on the Marin doing so however.
