Luggage rack mounting.
If you look at the earlier posts you will see that I went to some trouble with the mounting on the original frame. However when I assembled this one I was in a hurry, so I just used a home made clip formed in mild steel - the right hand mudguard stay mounting is done in the same way since the original brazing was damaged. In practice this has worked so well I've not bothered to change it.
Yes, that Sturmey has a 36 spoke shell. Although most of th old ones were 40 hole, later on they conformed to modern drilling. There are also some 28's which were used on Moultons.
I'm rather shocked to see, looking at this thread again, that I never wrote up the account of my YHA tour on this bike. I know I have it in note form - if it still seems interesting I'll try to get it done and post it here.
