Bought a new set of 1/2 decent wheels 6 months ago. Only done about 300 miles on them. Running an old school pair of Dia Compe cantis on the front (fixed at rear)which I haven't been that impressed with. The blocks they came with are quite hard and after a ride in grotty weather they picked up quite lot of grit. This has scored the braking surface and it now feels much rougher when braking, and no doubt wearing the blocks a lot faster. Has anyone tried resurfacing a braking surface? Is it a good idea or should I just upgrade the contaminated pads and let them sort themselves out? I tend to have these ideas then fuck things up trying to put them right!
