Glad to hear of other peoples fuck wittery - makes me feel much better. I bled hydraulic brakes today for the first time (WTF is wrong with cable discs?!) - I now have DOT fluid on the ceiling in the kitchen - hopefully my wife won't notice!

I did forget to mention that my bodged one also exploded resulting in a long walk to the nearest train station.

I made this mistake last year. I bodged it together using a chain breaker, a FUCK TONNE of time and a load of angry. It lasted a cycling trip in the mountains but then exploded on Muswell Hill this Sunday.
Funny story, as the bit I had bodged back on had dissapeared, I cut the new chain I bought too short too as I measured the new against the size of the old.
