Its a lovely watch and I'd be interested in buying it but they are £500 brand new on eBay at the moment.

OOOOh thanks for that.
Alpina was taken over recently by Citizen and altho they remain Swiss ( and will continue to do so) the distributors are different , so I reckon that is people dumping stock . At those prices they are losing money on each watch they sell.
