  • If I had the lump sum cash to spend I'd do that as it'd be a further £100ish cheaper over 24 months. I don't though. This evening I made a final call to ee to get either a better deal or my pac code and this time got offered a deal that betters the tesco one so have taken that.

  • Ah ok, understood.

Well done for pushing them for a better deal.

  • I think I need to do something similar. Like an idiot, I've been continuing to pay my contract cost over a year after I could've gone down to SIM only. Realised this a few weeks ago when I drowned my phone. Haven't decided what to do about it, I'd like to stay with EE just because I've been with them forever and I know it works fine for me, but don't much like what they've been offering me with regards to upgrade. Probably sensible thing would be to buy phone outright and go SIM only.

Want something smallish, android, fairly robust.
Looking at Moto G5 (because last phone was an old Moto), Huawei P8 Lite (best offer so far by EE), Wileyfox Swift 2, and Sony Xperia Compact (as recommended upthread, but a bit pricey).
