I picked this up locally with the idea or either a restore or else single speed conversion. From what I gather it's a 1986 Holdsworth Challenger GT with Reynolds 501 tubing.
Here is the original spec sheet, so it should be 501, although no sticker on the frame..
Mine seems to be have been upgraded over the years, so it has shimano 105 levers and calipers and miche hubs on Mavic rims, It's 12 speed 53/42 and a 11/23 cassette.
Did a strip down..I have never seen grime like it. But cleaned and added the following
New shimano hoods
Bar tape
Charge spoon
Mavic Askiums
Original cranks and 42t front ring
16T rear cog
schwalbe Lugano tanwall tyres (although they appear nearly white!!)
new inner and outer cables
Shimano RD-540 pedals
Here it is in single speed setup. I need a silver seat post, The old one is too short.. But black is all I had in the garage. Built to 9.6kg as the photo.. rides well.
