what happens if you enrol?
edit: are you logging in to the same page you tried before, ie. https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/gg/sign-in?continue=/account ?

Right, I now have the activation code, and now I'm stuck again.
I log into the gateway.gov.uk site, go to "your services", click on Self Assessment and then the only thing it will offer is for me to enrol, not to activate an existing application for self assessment.
And the help-line is shut.
Anyone got a clue what to do in this situation?
