Heavy silicone is heavy.
I saved something like 8kg removing all the silicone hose from my race car and bending aluminium pipe to suit.
My main objective is having a reliable/efficient car for the road and silicone hoses tick that box for me. A thermostat housing with a hole in it on the other hand...
Braze the hole?
What I wondered was whether the heavy hoses caused the pipe to fracture. Silicone is fine for bling but usually heavier than the rubber it replaces.
