  • Dear All,

After being knocked off my bike, I ran a Kickstarter a year ago for Carney Reflective Cycling Apparel to help keep cyclists seen and looking epic which was featured in London Evening Standard.

Although we didn’t reach our target, we received loads of encouragement and went ahead anyway to self-fund the first production run for Carney Reflective Sleeves which are perfect for chilly mornings, being seen on your ride and looking epic (no high viz in sight).

Cycling Weekly have just awarded them 10/10 in their latest review and they are available to buy here.

I’d also like to share our 10 easy tips to enjoy your cycle commute and our story on coming back from failure which I hope may be of interest.

    Enjoy your ride,

    Ros

    1 Be seen

2 Assume the driver hasn't seen you

How do these two tips enhance the enjoyability of my commute? I mostly ride in daylight so '1' doesn't really seem relevant. I don't make a habit of riding in the gutter either. '2' is the kind of thing that would make me anxious rather than increase my enjoyment.

I'm sure your product is great and I wish it every success, but it would be great if people in the cycling industry didn't pony up this shit which makes out that cyclists are a problem and an obstacle on the road.
