Soo......Troy Meadows was NOT what I expected. The trails running of the campground seemed so clean and loamy...in reality, a hundred yards up the track, it was a steep, rutted slog fest, replete with never-ending, enormous rocks and some big drop offs. Graham Jarvis, I am not - it was hard, physical labour. We managed about 35 miles, I fell off 5-6 times, my poor mate double that including punching a hole in his alternator cover that we patched with epoxy trailside. Utterly spectacular scenery - alpine meadows, river crossings and mountain peaks. Delightful but hard work.
My CR250 was way too hard, the suspension was bouncing off everything, rather than rolling over it. The motor was great though, lugging when it needed too but still with enough power to fire it over anything big. I ran out of gas 3/4 of the way around and had to push it to the road for about a mile and a half which was bloody knackering. Neither of us rejetted and the bikes were SUCKING juice at 7500'.
Really good fun but I still prefer things a little more fast and flowing!
