The ones I had issue with where the older version with smaller spring. I snapped the spring on it by stepping on the back of the pedal. I think @6pt did the same. 8nm isn't that much but easily enough to keep your feet on the pedals.

Are they #tester_approved?

I had some Keo Flex for a while, and the sloppy 8Nm wasn't the problem, even up to 170rpm on the rollers. Although I tend to use 12-16Nm versions, I can't see 8Nm causing me a problem.
