I had a similar problem. I managed to bend it back by gripping the hanger with an adjustable spanner and gingerly pushing on it.
I did wonder what I would have done if it snapped. But since as it was useless in the The bent position, it was a risk worth taking. Fortunately, it worked but I guess the next step would have been to take it to a frame repairer.
