  • I used to get really run down from time to time when I was commuting by bike plus running etc on top. I sometimes considered a blood test to see what I was getting deficient in. It was probably one of those things that could have given me good insight into my diet and a few simple tweaks could have really improved my general health.

  • Iron. Running means you get iron deficient super quickly. As a high impact sport, and iron as a high density mineral, it very quickly gets knocked down to your feet. This is why after a long run your feet feel heavy, and also why your toenails change colour if you run often.
