It was sad watching the Backstage Pass preview with Durbridge just after hearing that.
The trouble with BS is that the riders come across really well, so whenever something happens to them it seems worse. It brings home all the preparation and hope that goes into it, and how crushing it must be to go out on the first stage.
Are there any other abandons aside from Izaguirre, Durbridge and Valverde?
