I suspect you've done this by now, but I've used TasnferWise to bring money over from Canada a few times.

No not yet, still waiting on cheques.
Hers will be written out to me though, so at least we can cash it and then decide which way to send it.
Thanks for the TransferWise vote, we may wait a bit to see how the £ fairs against the Canadian $.

I last did it immediately before brexit. So regardless of when you transfer, feel secure in the knowledge that you'll have done better than me.
