Not a fan of the future shock meself, had a go on a roubaix soon as it was released. Surely damping vibration to the hands will improve handling over rough ground while also reducing fatigue. Personally I just bend my arms and loosen my grip slightly.
Don't know why Spesh have added it to the new Diverge, current models don't have it, if anything I would have made a bit more clearance for bigger tyres, especially at the rear. As an otp bike I quite like em. But as you said, bit gimmicky.
