The brake caliper has nothing to do with the clearance, if you see the picture it's not present. The problem relies with the disc distance to the chainstays. At first I thought it was my rear hub but after trying another wheelset I found out it was not.
Then I asked kinesis and they just sent me a 140 rotor for free :/, I think the welding are to blame here... that and the guy that designed the frame and put on the website initially that 160 rotors where ok.. then changed it to 140... last Kinesis for me.

If clearance is not an issue with your frame, go for it :). Mine is impossible to be run with 160 (and I tried with two differente rear wheels and 160 discs)

Anyway I got not issues with 140 in the rear on rain/snow and fully loaded up.
