  • After a lot of thought I've decided to sell this. I really just haven't been using it enough to justify having so much invested in it. So here we go.

The frame is a Tommasini Air Lo Pro. There's not a lot of info online about these frames, however what is available suggests that it once was used by the Bulgarian National Team in the 80's. The tubing is either Columbus Air or a custom pressed version of SL. The previous owner has had the seat tube replaced as it had a crack. The new tube is Columbus SL.

Measures 57cm square ctc. 54cm effective top tube length.

The original forks were missing when I got it, it came with a 700C set which I replaced with 650C ones. I had the new ones custom made by Faggin out of Columbus Air. The version of Air is the one which rounds at the fork crown so it fit's more regular crowns.

Now the not so good part. After getting the frame I discovered that there is a very slight bump at the top of the down tube. Suggesting that it's been in a head on collision at some point, which explains why the original fork is missing. The bump is pretty small, not visible however you can feel it. I've ridden it over the last year with no problems, nothing has changed with it at all. Also, there are a couple of small dents in the tt, apparently the previous owner had some filled in however they are still slightly visible.

Okay on to the build. Parts list is as follows:

    – Campy C-Record Cranks 170mm
    – Campy 48T Chainring
    – Campy BB, think the axle is C-Record, cups are not (surfaces are a little rough).
    – Campy C-Record pedals. TBS version. Right pedal back plate has snapped off on the corner.
    – MKS NJS Cages L
    – Campy C-Record Sheriff Star wheelset, front 650C, built on Mavic Open4CD rims.
    – Continental GP4000 fornt and rear.
    – Campy Cog 15T
    – Campy lockring
    – Campy C-Record Seatpost (I think)
    – Yellow Flite
    – Cinelli 2A Stem 130mm
    – Tange Headset (Long story, fork needs a headset with very low stack height)

Unfortunately, handlebars aren't included as they were on loan. I can however include the bar tape which is Benotto and matches the saddle nicely.

Pricing this is hard, especially considering the condition of the frame, and also considering the price of the very similar on which sold here last year. Bare in mind that that one was sold for an absolute steal considering the parts which were on it.

So for the full build (minus bars), I'm asking for £1100. I'll outline a breakdown of how I've priced it in the next post. To be honest I'll probably have better luck parting it out but I'm going to see what happens for now.
