I've used a supernova triple pro and a supernova hub off road for a couple of years. It still works the same as the day I got it, and it has been through some miserable mud and water, so it is very reliable.
The problem though is the flickering beam below about 4 mph, which on a muddy single track climb was a pretty big issue for me. I have added a decent helmet light now (Exposure joystick), and switch that on whenever I know I am about to need it.
In practice the two work very well, as I don't run through the battery in the helmet light ever, the dynamo light produces enough light (it is amazingly bright and wide angle) for well over 75% of the time.
Sadly it all cost loads of money.
Cheers! That sounds how I thought to be honest, I have a dynamo wheel already so may splash out for a MagicShine helmet light and an Iq-X dynamo light.
