Both the mismatched ones on mine are loaner wheels, until I sort something proper out.
My first thought on wheels was to build some (2nd hand) BMX hubs onto some low profile rims.
Pros: Good mud resistance
Cons: Expensive
My second thought was to buy some cheap(ish) formula hubs or similar and build onto low profile rims then get a half decent(noisy) freewheel to put on there.
Pros: Cheap to buy
Easy to change sealed bearings
Cons: Bad at keeping mud out
I don't know which would be better. I'm leaning towards formula or similar hubs with a half decent freewheel.
Finally - silver hub and spokes built on to a black rim is the classiest combo, however black rims will get ripped up by the brakes especially in the mud - so would full silver look best?
Or should I get black and just accept the brake track will looks somewhat pants.
