  • Right....reckon I'm done with this bike. She's decided to fucking quit starting again. Was going to re-adjust the TPS yesterday as it's really out of wack and kicks in at around 4k. Opened up, realised I forgot a tool, so closed it all back up and rode it back home as losing light.
Jump on it a few hours later...wtf! Running on 1 cylinder, just the rear as well. Ok....

Opened it up now to see if I snagged something or the other. Nope. Wait....brake light not working...jiggle some cables. Now...nothing.

Gonna give it a service then move it on. Really dig this bike and I want to keep it to learn and tinker, but realising it's pretty shit if you don't have the space to do so.

  • So rotten wiring harness or some bad earth's (multiple?) going on?
Hate electric gremlins, mechanical stuff so much easier.

  • A very big possibility. Started after I went into dealer mode which I needed to adjust the throttle sensor as the bike has always ran super rich with crap mileage, now the bike primes, but no spark whatsoever.
The loom has definitely been fettled with before to attach an alarm and grips, which I don't even use anymore, but that means there's fucking unconnected plugs everywhere where there shouldn't be.
    I hate electricals...

  • Yussss! Avoided taking it to the shop. Pissed me off so had a dive into the main culprits. Recharged the batteries and removed any unnecessary directly plugged crap. Cleaned some of the contacts, which there was a lot of.

Since there was a strong smell of fuel, though I might have flooded the plugs somewhat. Removed the plugs (I was worried about the coils being fucked) and lo and behold. Droplets of moisture.
Cleaned, and BAM! she runs, and cleaner then with the old plugs, which annoyingly enough, were the new ones, so put the old ones back in. She's eating through plugs.

Anyway, any ideas on the moisture build up, it's been particularly humid these days, so I imagine the temperature variance from running to stand still is building it up. I don't have a choice as I have to store it outside.

    Overall, unexpected joy-10
