Got it with the bike I bought. Smelly when heats up from wet. I understand the principle behind it. Not sure there's a point outside of performance riding. I didn't notice any anyway.
Not bothered by the look, but it does keep the pipes in good nick.

Is there really any performance benefit? Everything I've read says to the contrary - ie if anything it = a decrease in performance.
In which case it's 100% about aesthetics, and people can make their own mind up on how the things looks.
As to protecting the pipes I'm sure I've read some aftermarket exhausts won't warrant wrapped pipes.

exhaust wrap, anyone done it?
