Hi All, I'm selling this vintage steel town bike which I've just finished rebuilding with modern parts. Basically I've upgraded almost everything and serviced it thoroughly, so the bike runs smooth and quiet. The frame has the usual cosmetic signs of wear but is in good condition otherwise, no dents or any other damage.
I've fitted a modern alloy wheelset with a coaster brake on the rear and switched out all the old steel parts for new alloy components to get the weight down, so there's a new seatpost, quill stem, northroad handlebars and I fitted a modern Tektro long drop brake up front to improve the stopping power. The original chainset was fine, but I've serviced the original bottom bracket and regreased the headset.
I also added some nice finishing kit, namely a Brooks Flyer saddle which is sprung so is super comfortable, some similar looking ergo grips, a pair of alloy cage flat pedals, some full length metal mudguards, 35c Kenda Kwick gumwall tyres and for a bit of added practicality a Wald basket.
This bike is a solid runabout, ideal for short commutes etc, and for the current build I'm asking £250 £245 o.n.o. However I'm happy to swap out some parts to lower the price, I could swap the Brooks saddle for a brown Charge Spoon and keep the Wald basket, so without those I'd sell for £195 £190 o.n.o. The bike's in London E14 by Canary Wharf, so please PM with any questions or if you'd like to view and take it for a test ride, cheers Kev.
