I think that the reason why the focus is so much on the outcome, that the bridge collapsed, and not on the possible driver error or mechanical failure of the lorry, is because it is probably not yet known what it was. Until such time, reporters inevitably have to concentrate on what's marginally more obvious. That, and obviously also that people always get very upset when a major road is blocked for whatever reason.
Very glad there seems to have been very little injury. Far more serious motorway incidents in which many people die seem to get less news coverage than this.
