300 quid aint bad compared to the 1300 that I was quoted!
Where did you get that quote from? Tempted to give it a shot or just stick it on the bay for a couple hundred quid or something.

But that was just their ballpark minimum for stripping it down and cleaning it. It didn't include replacing anything that was broken.

Does depend how badly damaged it is though. I poured a pint of beer in mine, which it didn't like.
I took it to somewhere to get it fixed and they said I was better off taking it to pieces and cleaning it myself because they'd charge me a minimum of £300, and couldn't guarantee they'd fix it.
So I did that and its fine now apart from the trackpad.
