Go to the shop now and click the shield in the top right to get 10 coins.

You have to hold the gym for 21 hours to get more coins.

Do you get the extra coins automatically or do you need to click the shield?

Already booted out... That didn't last long, good thing I grabbed those coins when @Cazakstan told me to... I've learnt something, good stuff...
