  • I bought new lights.

They are ace, so I'm going to rave about them:

    Moon Pulsar @ £13.49

They work off of AAA batteries, so no USB charging. Allows me to use rechargeable AAAs. It runs for 43 hours at the brightest setting, which is 25 lumens. But that's deceptive, because this is the little LED array thing that Moon specialise in and so it's a piercingly bright and very visible red line.

It is very waterproof, quite small, comes with a belt clip as well as a very easy to use quick remove thing. The belt clip makes it perfect for my Apidura saddle bag, as well as my messenger bags.

Basically, it's a bargain, has a very very long runtime, is very bright and can be seen from all angles, and did I mention how cheap this thing is?

I've been raving about Moon's COB arrays for years. The large emitter area seems to make judgement of the distance to the emitter easier for the people you're trying to reach (i.e. following vehicle drivers), compared with higher intensity 'point source' lights.
