Screen is an issue with air, dont think I can live with 1366x768 native .. air with retina is the perfect laptop which is what apple would do next week I reckon .. I'll still be in my 14 day return period .. but yeah shiny things

Macrumors think the Air is likely to be discontinued:
Apple's plans for the MacBook Air are unclear, given the similarities between the new Retina MacBook and the MacBook Air. It's possible Apple will phase out the MacBook Air line as technology improves and allows the price of the Retina MacBook to come down.
The fact that the 13-inch MacBook Air was upgraded with 8GB of base RAM in April of 2016 does not bode well for additional updates later in the year. The minor spec bump suggests Apple will not be introducing further MacBook Air changes, perhaps signaling the end of the MacBook Air lineup.
According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is replacing the MacBook Air with the Retina MacBook. Apple will keep the MacBook Air around as a low-cost Apple notebook option, but will not introduce further updates.

People who are happy with an air have not had their eyes opened to the wonders of retina. There's genuinely no going back. I wanted the portability of the air with the screen of the pro, and was happy to compromise on specs to achieve it.
@amey just wants shiny things.
