@TomvanHalen Cheers, I cut off the seat bolt boss, the double seatpost clamp is a Taiwanese job that makes sure that the 27.2 seatpost which is shimmed to 29.2 seat tube doesn't slip, works real nice. Hyperlinking is not working for me, but it is easy enough to find it in E-bay!
@russmeyer thanks, nr 5 is an interesting one, the mechanic is now retired but I hope that he still has access to his old workplace (well equipped workshop in an old airplane hangar). plan b) for this option is a car place in Zagreb that does TIG welding and brazing (but I guess it would cost 50€+) and plan c) is an engineer friend, who just finished a welding course as a part of additional education for a bridge engineering project in Germany.
Any opinions on the disc brakes, seems like entry level shimanos and avid elixir 5 are in my price range. Is it wise to go mechanical if I decide to to convert to drop bars I can do it with normal levers (shimano cx77 set going for 60€, BB7's just got sold for 50€ on local listing, tektro aries 30€) or is it too much faff to get them working?
