Perfect time to ask then. What are the rucksack essentials for a trip to the lakes climbing? I've generally avoided climbing anywhere more than a half hour stroll from the car with few exceptions.
Will be there for 2 days climbing and walking. Have boots, waterproofs and all the crap that goes with climbing.
Are walking poles and a decent brolly worthy investments?
Don't have a gps, suck with maps but will have the map and compass at least.
